Update, October 2026: This page used to review the Shark Navigator Deluxe NV42. The NV42 is no longer stocked on Amazon and isn’t in Shark’s current line-up, so we’ve rewritten this review around the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360, the Navigator upright we now recommend in its place. The specs below come from Shark’s own product page.
The Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe (NV360) is a corded, bagless upright for people who want full-size cleaning on carpet and hard floors. It runs on 1,200 watts with a 25-foot cord, and its 9.5-inch cleaning path covers open floor in fewer passes than a narrow stick vacuum.
What sets it apart from a basic upright is Lift-Away: press a button and the pod detaches, so you can carry it up stairs or clean furniture and other spots above the floor. It also has a sealed system with a HEPA filter, which matters if anyone in your home has allergies.

Who Is the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 For?
The NV360 suits homes with a mix of carpet and hard floors, a flight of stairs or two, and anyone who prefers a classic upright to a stick vacuum. It’s part of the Shark Navigator family of vacuums, the line the NV42 also came from.
It’s less suited to small apartments with no storage space, since it’s a full-size upright, or to anyone who wants to vacuum without a cord. Its reach is limited to the 25-foot cord plus the hose.
Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 Features and Specifications
Lift-Away Pod
The Lift-Away pod is the NV360’s headline feature. Press the release and the pod comes off the upright frame, so you can carry it in one hand and clean stairs, upholstery, curtains or the inside of a car parked close to an outlet. On the floor it works as a normal upright.

Power, Cord and Hose
Shark rates the NV360 at 1,200 watts (120 V, 10 A). It has a 25-foot power cord and a 5-foot hose for above-floor cleaning, which gives you room to work through a living room or bedroom before you need to switch outlets.
Sealed HEPA Filtration
The NV360 pairs Shark’s Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology with a HEPA filter, designed to trap dust and allergens inside the vacuum rather than letting them escape back into the room. Both the HEPA filter and the foam filters are washable, so there’s no filter to buy on a schedule.

Brushroll Shutoff and Swivel Steering
A brushroll shutoff lets you switch from deep carpet cleaning to gentler bare-floor cleaning, so the spinning brush isn’t scattering debris across hard floors. Swivel Steering helps the nozzle turn around chair legs and furniture.
Dust Cup, Tools and Warranty
The bagless dust cup holds 0.9 quarts. In the box you get a crevice tool and an upholstery tool. Shark backs the NV360 with a 5-year limited warranty.

NV360 vs. the NV42 We Reviewed Before
Our earlier review of the Shark Navigator Deluxe NV42 named two main drawbacks: it had no swivel steering and no HEPA filter. Shark lists both on the NV360. It also adds the Lift-Away pod, so you can take the canister off the frame for stairs and furniture.
If you still own an NV42 and it’s working well, there’s no need to replace it. If you’re buying new, the NV360 is the Navigator we’d look at first. For more Shark options, see our Shark vacuum reviews.

Final Verdict
The Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360 is a straightforward full-size upright that adds Lift-Away flexibility and sealed HEPA filtration to the Navigator formula. It suits mixed-floor homes where a cord isn’t a dealbreaker, and Shark backs it with a five-year limited warranty.
I am having trouble utilizing the accessories. When I attach the accessory tool to the stretch hose, I get no suction. Please let me know how I can correct this problem. Thank you.
