The Hoover FloorMate Lux is a hard floor cleaner for people who would rather wash their floors with a machine than push a mop and bucket around. Hoover designed it to scrub sealed hardwood, vinyl, ceramic tile, laminate and marble, using spinning brushes, cleaning solution and two separate water tanks.
It isn’t a vacuum. Hoover lists Wash and Dry modes, not a suction mode for dry debris, so plan to sweep or vacuum loose dirt first.
Amazon currently lists the FloorMate Lux as model FH44110V (Gen 2). Hoover hasn’t published separate specs for it, so check the listing before you buy.
Who Is the Hoover FloorMate Lux For?
The FloorMate Lux suits homes with a lot of sealed hard flooring: kitchens, hallways, bathrooms and open-plan living areas where a mop and bucket takes a long time and leaves floors wet. Hoover lists sealed hardwood, vinyl, ceramic tile, laminate and marble as suitable surfaces.
It’s not for carpet, and it’s not for unsealed wood, which Hoover doesn’t list. If most of your home is carpeted, a carpet cleaner or a regular vacuum is a better buy.
